Mr. Wiesmann began his education career after graduating from Franklin College as a 6th-grade math and science teacher at Perry Meridian Middle School before embarking on his master's degree in educational leadership from Ball State University. He then moved on to becoming the Dean of Students at Southport Academy, eventually transitioning to Assistant Principal, and then ultimately becoming the building's Principal. In 2021, while Principal at Southport Academy, the school was recognized as a finalist for the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Founder's Award, and granted $10,000. As of 2024, Mr. Wiesmann has over 20 years in education and is in his second year as the Principal of Center Grove Middle School Central. Mr. Wiesmann was also named District 9's Middle School Principal of the Year.
Mr. Wiesmann is the proud parent of four children: Ali, a 2023 graduate of Center Grove now attending Indiana University; Addy, currently a senior at Center Grove High School; Luke, a 7th grader at Center Grove Middle School Central; and Lauren, a 5th grader at North Grove Elementary. He enjoys supporting his children in their various sports and finds joy in playing singles pickleball, pick-up basketball with friends, and cornhole. He also values attending motorsports events with his son—especially the Indianapolis 500—and experiencing the excitement of sold-out Indiana high school basketball games in historic gyms. In his free time, he enjoys classic cars, particularly Tri-Five Chevys.
